Are you looking for a venue that you can have all to yourselves? Wild Whitty offers just that, exclusive group hire.

Nestled in the glorious, quiet Taunton Vale countryside in rural Somerset, but still easily accessible, we are a family-run, family focused campsite. Situated on a small holding, there are a choice of sites where you can pitch your tent surrounded by a wild flower meadow and a meandering shallow stream for kids to safely play in. When you are finished fossil hunting in the stream, or constructing dams we have den building kits and a small rustic play area to keep the children entertained. With abundant wildlife, a couple of resident sheep and half a dozen chickens looking on, what more could you ask for?

A large rustic oak picnic bench is available to use, which can seat 10 comfortably. Firepits are also provided along with complimentary fire lighting kits. Additional firewood can be purchased on site and BBQ meat boxes can be pre-ordered for those who wish to cook on the open fire. However, if you fancy a night off, there are two excellent, dog friendly pubs within strolling distance and many more by bike or car. Freshly prepared, home-made breakfast boxes can be ordered daily and home-made cakes and ice creams will be available to purchase on site.

This pop-up site considers itself to be ‘almost wild camping’ as a hot shower and compost loo are located in the Wagon House. In addition, there are washing up facilities and an outside tap for drinking water. Although the site is off grid there is a USB charging point available and limited solar lighting around the toilet block. The rest of the site is unlit so head torches are recommended.

On the doorstep there are numerous woodland walks with spectacular views and fabulous cycling on quiet country lanes or off-road tracks. The local Herepath Trail is a 13 mile shared cycle and walking bridleway which forms a loop around the village of Staple Fitzpaine in the beautiful Blackdown Hills AONB. The route primarily follows a series of off road tracks through wooded areas. The Quantock Hills are only a 30-minute drive and within 45 minutes you can be enjoying the stunning scenery of Exmoor National Park. If you fancy a day at the beach the Jurassic Coast is only 30 minutes by car.

Well behaved pets welcome.
