Description

I represent one of the biggest cycling clubs in the UK. We are looking for venues for cyclocross racing. Cyclocross is a form of off-road cycle racing. Races typically take place in the autumn and winter, and consist of many laps of a short course through fields, tracks, wooded trails, grass, steep hills and obstacles requiring the rider to quickly dismount, carry the bike while navigating the obstruction and remount. We require land that offers a rideable loop of up to 2 miles and parking for around 300 vehicles. Our other requirements come under the heading of 'nice-to-haves'. They include toilets, a water supply and indoor space (for rider registration). Events take place over one or two days. If the weather is wet, grassland can be superficially damaged by the racing, but this is almost always temporary.
