Hello, I’m a TV Researcher writing to you from Boundless Productions in London. We make a wide variety of factual TV shows for UK broadcasters, including Grand Designs for Channel 4 and Escape to the Country for the BBC. We have started pre-production on an exciting new show for E4 and are in the process of finding accommodation that will serve both as a base for the contestants, and as a filming location for the programme. We are looking into the possibility of having tipi-style campsite built for the show. We are in talks with various companies about building the (temporary) camp – I’m posting here to see if anyone can provide a location! Here is a little more info: - The format of the show requires up to 8 contestants to live on-camera for 2 weeks in shared accommodation. - Filming is scheduled for a 2-week block in June 2020. - Initial thoughts are that we would need accommodation for the core crew of around 20 people plus a big communal hub tent, washing/cleaning facilities and cooking facilities. We are in talks with companies to supply tipi style tents to be constructed for this. - There will at times be additional crew – we might be interested in housing them on the same site but can finds alternative accommodation if this is not possible. - We will need the village to be built before the filming block and will possibly need time with it after - so would probably need the ‘village’ to be up for 4-6 weeks - It would be helpful if the site had some infrastructure already in pace (toilets, electric supply etc…) but this isn’t a deal breaker. - We are currently looking in Devon, Hampshire, Cornwall and Wiltshire. We are not wedded to these locations though and are open to other areas for the right site. - Also, we are flexible about the aesthetic of the site. We want it to look special but are open to all variations, from wild and overgrown forest, to manicured and coastal (for example!) At this stage we are open to all possibilities.
