We are looking for a field that can be used for a week's camping in summertime for Phoenix Gatherings (formerly Dance Camp North that has been running for 20 years). Numbers might be between 100-200 people. We will need a little time either side to setup and put away, so a 2 week period would be ideal. Phoenix Gatherings is a family-based artistic/creative, community of people who want to experience being together in an eco-friendly and back-to-earth type of setting. "One Family in a Field" is our strapline. We run dance and singing workshops where the people who come provide the skills we use. Our camps need to be able to have fires, which we can source sustainably and responsibly, access to running water, as well as access for a small number of marquees for the communal spaces. We only require basic facilities, and on previous sites have built semi-permanent earth pits/latrines and temporary shower structures which we bring with us. We "tread lightly" on the land and take care to put the field back in good order at the end of our time filling in fire-pits, cleaning rubbish, etc. Ideally we want to build a long-term relationship with a land-owner and would prefer owners who have a strong eco/organic practice.
